We left on Thursday night after Nico's school Christmas program, and 3 out of 4 of us slept nearly the whole way there. (Poor David...) Come Friday morning, Nico was wired to get Christmas going. We weren't going to open gifts until later that night, but we did let him read all of the tags and divide up the presents by name. We hung around at the house for the first half of the day, and we got out and about for a snack and quick grocery run early in the afternoon.
We landed at Snuffers for some appetizers and a drink. Best cheese fries on the planet. Natalie was cracking us up and spent the entire lunch smiling at Papa.
Nico thought that him and Papa needed to stick together since they were both wearing boots. He made him sit in the backseat with him for this reason.
We stopped back home to allow Natalie to nap before our big night began, and not too long before we wanted to leave, Nico also passed out... right there on the couch next to us all. We voted to let them both sleep for a while, or we would pay for it.
After naptime, we let Nico open a few gifts while Cindy was finishing up some of the preliminary cooking that we decided to do before we left for our evening in downtown Grapevine!
Pure happiness. Continued laughter over Natalie's excitement about Dave.
We made it out for about an hour to downtown Grapevine to look at the pretty lights and displays! This has become one of our traditions with the Biagini's and is something that I look forward to!
When you can see all four of our faces, we'll consider that a darn good family photo these days.
Both kids were fascinated by the fake snow falling down. A nice Christmas moment.
This guy.
Love this boy with my whole heart. It's been fun reliving the magic of this season through his eyes.
We had an amazing prime rib dinner at home before it was time to open presents. The food neer disappoints at Dave and Cindy's home. Natalie was content with her rice cereal.
The highlight of her Christmas, and maybe of her life thus far, was this toy. She loved it and was full of smiling expressions and kicking legs each time it sang a song and danced! She also received the activity cube, a handful of cute clothes, and a personalized book.
Nico made out well again this year with superhero legos, a nerf gun that he claims he had wanted his whole life, clothes, a couple games, a hockey bag, and remote control bumper cars!
The night got away from us, and I think it was 11 pm before we all got to bed! It was such a fun night with them and was definitely full of laughs! We woke up on Sat morning and went to brunch at Main St Bakery and walked a little around some of the shops in downtown Grapevine.
We left for Plano around 1:30 to head to Ryan and Jessica's for some Christmas cookie and gingerbread house decorating! Jessica is so cute to have had all of this stuff ready for Nico to come do!
We all went over to Uncle Neil's house around 4 to have our Christmas together. The kids exchanged gifts, and we had a million appetizers along with brats for dinner. This was the first time for Uncle Neil and his fam to meet Natalie!
Alex and Nico got along right from the start as if they have been friends forever. They ran around terrorizing Caitlyn with nerf guns and played superheroes!
We had such a fun time over at Uncle Neil's house. He is such a big part of my memories of Christmas as a child. It was special to get our kids together, and they played together so well for not being around each other very often. (I feel bad that I don't have Amanda in any of the pics. She was next to me in the living room, so I always had my camera pointed out away from us.)
