Nico is THREE!

Nico's birthdays are some of my favorite days! It just doesn't get any better than seeing him so excited for everything! This year was extra special because he has quite a few neighborhood friends that he invited in addition to family.

We went with the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme since that is what he is most into these days.

Food included Chick-fil-A nuggets, spicy corndip with chips, and watermelon...

And ofcourse a cake! (How awesome of a job did my dad do, by the way?!)

AND cupcakes...

There were enough presents to last him for a FEW birthdays!...

The kids ran around outside for the first half of the party. We had a pool, a slip-n-slide, a bubble machine, and plenty of water guns! It was pretty darn hot, but at least we had a shade cover and fan up on the deck for the adults. The kids had a blast!

The heat wore him out after a while, and our birthday boy was agreeable to eat a little lunch!

Cake time!!! He was so excited to blow out his candles...

Because it was his birthday, we really didn't tell him "no" too much. He inhaled a big piece of cake AND a few cupcakes! Little pig!

We had a houseful of such great family and friends!

The pull-string piƱata was a success! Except for the fact that poor Nico was terrified, thinking it was going to make loud noises like fireworks, so he stood there with his hands over his ears for a while!

The candy eventually fell out. This made for a fun idea for goodie bags for him and his friends to fill.

Gift opening time!!! There was so much going on, that it took Nico a long time to get to all of his presents. He was easily distracted as you can imagine! We had to put the family ones in the back for him to open later on.

His golf clubs from Papa and Grandma were a hit!

David and Nico usually take trips to Walmart every few weeks, and Nico would always ride this red bike. He eventually considered it his and would park it in a certain spot before leaving. One day it wasn't there (because David had a worker take it in the back to secretly put it in the car afterwards) and Nico freaked out. He was so upset that someone stole HIS bike! He talked about it for a few weeks. His face was priceless (and so is my mom's, haha) during the bike reveal...

He proudly jumped on that bike and started riding laps around the kitchen!

We couldn't have asked for a better time at Nico's 3rd birthday! We are very appreciative to everyone that came to make him feel extra special today!

To finish up the big party weekend, we went to Saltlick for dinner with David's parents and Chris/Greyson later after naptimes!

Whew, what a fun weekend! Happy birthday to our favorite 3 year old around!
