Nico's immediate request was to get in the pool with Papa and Grandma!...
David and I slipped out on Thursday night to meet up with these guys at our favorite spot, Mias! It's not a complete trip up this way without stopping by for some brisket tacos.
Heaven!...
We spent quite a bit of Friday by the pool. Nico finally has gotten brave in the water with the help of his new arm floaties. It was his first time to swim across a pool by himself! It was fun to see him enjoying the water so much!
Racing Grandma...
Cannonball!...
We went to one of the best spots in Grapevine for dinner on Friday, Bonefish.
Then, we headed to Lake Grapevine to catch the fireworks show.
We thought that Nico would have been pumped for this. He always gets so excited to see fireworks on tv after homeruns during baseball games. He even has us simulate them in the backyard by throwing baseballs in the air whenever he hits the ball far. Instead, he sat here with his ears covered the entire time. Bummer. (I think he is still scarred from New Year's Eve fireworks when we did them in our neighborhood, and they were pretty loud from a close distance.)
We all went to Top Golf on Saturday morning and met Ryan and Jessica there too! Nico totally impressed us with his golf swing. He's a stud. We let him hit ball after ball for a while. I'm not sure he would have ever stopped if we didn't make him.
More pooltime on Saturday afternoon during Nico's naptime.
We had an awesome dinner at Biagini's followed by a little movie night with Monsters Inc and Frozen.
Can you say worn out?!...
