Arizona getaway

David and I have become quite the traveling, party animals this year, as we went on another Nico-less weekend getaway, making our 3rd airplane trip for 2012. We flew out to Phoenix primarily for Danielle's (one of my best friends from high school) wedding, and made a little 3 night trip out of it. It was a good time!

We arrived Thursday and went into downtown Scottsdale that night to meet David's cousin, Abby, for a few drinks. The Yardhouse has a huuuuge selection of beer. And much to anyone's surprise, including my own, I did NOT get Coors Light. Yep, I know you are impressed.

After a few hours down there, we headed back towards our hotel, and got some text messages to come meet up with the bridal party for a quick drink at a fancy champagne bar. We closed out night out there and it was really nice to see Danielle and meet some of her college friends prior to her wedding.

Saturday morning was the day of the wedding, which was at 4, so we didn't want to get too crazy the first half of the day. We ate breakfast at Overeasy, which is a cute little diner featured on David's show Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. I'm tellin ya, he knows where to get the best food anywhere we go. Then we drove through some neighborhoods and up through a park in the mountains to check out the area. We started playing the "guess how much this house costs" game by finding houses with for sale signs and then googling the price. It was a fun, completely dorky game that actually lasted for a big chunk of the morning. The houses there are so funny looking to me.

Soon it was wedding time! They had a beautiful outdoor ceremony at a fancy hotel, followed by drinks on an outdoor patio, just outside of the reception area. Here is me and my hot date...

Saturday morning can be summed up by one word. Hungover. We walked next door to Tilted Kilt to watch football and eat some greasy food. I decided to workout my liver further with a few mimosas, which turned into a few beers after that. Frank was on vacation and going to make the most of it. David made the older and wiser decision to refrain. Early afternoon we met the bridal party over at the hotel for some poolside time, and later that night, David and I actually ended back up at the Tilited Kilt to watch the big OU/Notre Dame game. It was a very entertaining, loud atmosphere to say the least, as it was a restaurant divided and we were sitting smack dab in the middle of it all.

Meanwhile, my sweet mom was at our home all weekend watching Nico. Out of all the fun this weekend, nothing beat coming home to this guy.
