My mind is often filled with conflicting thoughts of just wanting you to stay this baby age forever, while also so excited to watch you grow and witness what your future holds. You're going to accomplish great things one day; I just know it. Your happiness is contagious, and you are the trooper of all troopers. Happy 10 months old!
I just rocked you to sleep a few minutes ago tonight and tried to bottle up that moment so that I could keep it there forever. You're in that transitional phase of no longer wanting to sit on our laps, since your curiosity and mobility are both rapidly growing. You've been army crawling all over the house the past few weeks, and you just started pulling up onto low furniture/objects. When I reach my hands out, you're quick to grab them and pull yourself into standing. You look beyond proud as you stand there wobbling about. We've been playing the game of chanting, "sooo big," as we raise our arms up high, and you looked right at me tonight and did just that, on your own, after standing up. (Only you made similar, cute babbling noises just trying to say those words.) I knew what you were saying. Stop growing up so fast, little one.
You've started to show some initial interest in walking this month! If we hold onto you, you'll walk with your little walker toy or while holding onto our hands. You look sooo excited during those moments, and your big brother may even be more excited about it all. (Nico's face is priceless below on your first few steps with the walker...)Size: Gotta find the 9 month doctor's appt report. Your height was around the 60ish percentile and weight was around 18 lbs, putting you in the 50ish percentile.
Clothing: Mostly 12 months with some 18 month sizes. Your daddy doesn't call you Chubbers McChubbers for nothin'. Kidding. Size 3 diapers still.
Schedule: We have been rockin' it at keeping you on a consistent schedule. Every now and then, when something gets in the way of that, you are still as easygoing as they get.
730-8 Wake up time
9- Bottle and breakfast, then playtime upstairs or errand with daddy
10-10:30 Nap
12:15- Wake up and go pick up Nico from school
1- Lunch time, start 2nd bottle, play with Nico!
2-2:15- Nap #2
4- Wake up and mommy's usually home, finish 2nd bottle
5:30-6- Dinner
7:30-8- Bedtime and 3rd bottle
You are still inconsistent with your nighttime sleeping, but we forgive you. It's about a 50/50 chance if you're going to get up at night, but you do fall asleep pretty easily if we come hold you.
Eating: We still try to prioritize your milk, but you really haven't been feelin' it these days. You drink around 20 ounces, but when your teeth hurt, it can be much less. You crack us up by definitively shoving the bottle away with your hand when it approaches your face. Sometimes, though, you'll drink it better in certain positions than others, so it's a game to try to make sure you're drinking enough milk. I'm debating if I'll make it up to your 1st birthday with this pumping stuff. A month and a half for me to go, but I'm running out of gas.
As far as solid foods, you looooove to eat. I can't think of a single thing you haven't liked, and I think your menu options are better than most people with your daddy's cooking! You've transitioned to nearly all table food, and your dexterity is awesome. It's amazing to watch you pick up the tiniest of crumbs. You really don't make much of a mess either, to the point that we don't always put a bib on you.
I couldn't choose just one or two eating pics, since you are just so funny and cute when you eat...
Breakfast taco Friday.
Blackberry smiles.
1st pizza day.
Eating is definitely one of your top hobbies. For breakfast, your daddy makes you omelets with different combos of cheese, meat, and potatoes. Other mornings, you'll have these tiny frozen pancakes that Nico used to love (you ate 5 the other day!) or fruit. You were pretty pumped about your first breakfast taco last month, too, and it was photo worthy.
For lunch and dinner, we make sure to give you a variety of food groups so that you've finished the day with a serving or 2 of protein, veggies, and fruits. You really don't eat too many carbs now that I'm thinking about it, other than handmade noodles and varied types of potatoes. You've really been able to eat a large majority of whatever we are eating with your now FOUR teeth! You seem to inhale blackberries with an increased excitement compared to the other handful of fruits that you have had. You eat a lot of the single serving packages of green beans, peas, and carrots for your go-to veggies, and your go-to meats are usually HEB deli meats or grilled chicken. We carry around puffs/baby cheeto type snacks wherever we go to keep you fed and sometimes for the purpose of distracting/entertaining you. (Hey, those tball outings of Nico's can be long!)
Talking: you babble about throughout the day with the main sounds of mama, dada, baba, nana, ah-boo, and yaya. We think that we have caught you saying "bye" as you have waved bye a few times this week, and there may be some correlation to "baba" as wanting your bottle of milk. The jury is still out on that one. You have definitely proven that you know I'm mama and daddy is dada. Daddy always says that he can sure tell that you've got an extra special love for me. I love how much you love me.
Your interaction has really increased with clapping (for playing pattycake and also for real clapping purposes when we say yay or when others are clapping at Nico's games), waving, imitating, playing the "sooo big" game like I mentioned before, and peek a boo.
New things/milestones: 4 teeth, feeding yourself regular food, army crawling, pulling yourself up (on low objects), walking with help, waving hello and goodbye.
Our fav moments: We both agree that your expressions and genuine enthusiasm when we go into your room to get you when you wake up (same applies for when we come home after being gone a while) are no match to any other moment that we can come up with right now.
You suck your thumb when you're tired. It's easy to know when you are ready for bedtime.
Clapping is one of your favorite things to do.
You help daddy with his chores.
You like to hang out in the stander, especially whenever we have things we need to do (bathroom, shower, cook, etc.)
Your first pool day.
We've been taking regular trips to outdoor restaurants with playgrounds. You love to sit in your stroller while snacking and watching people. It's easy to take you out, so we do it often!
Wearing your Hogs gear for Uncle E.
This activity center is your favorite toy. Entertainment for hours. And this is where you're learning to pull yourself up!
We have graduated from the small duck bathtub to the real thing! Nico now asks if he can take baths with you.
You follow that big brother of yours wherever he goes. Always wanting to be a part of what he's doing.
Your first restaurant high chair experience.
Love those cheeks.
Movin' all over the house! We've put up the baby gate (finally).
You love to play with your doggie. You try to grab her collar, ears, and tail, and she generally lets you! She is protective of you and has actually gone after Nico a few times when she thought he was getting too rowdy near you!
You've been making the funniest faces on a regular basis. These are two of my favorites. Not the cutest expressions, but I LOVE them!
