David and I were fortunate to have another year of being an ACL Festival VIP groupie with my dad! This makes four years in a row. We went just on Sunday this year to check out the scene and see Mumford and Sons bring the festival to a close.
July Talk was an intriguing band that we ventured out of the Grove to see in the morning. Otherwise, the free food and beer seemed more exciting than many of the other bands for the first half of the day.
The classic "Jeff Elson in Mexico carrying beer across a cold pool" pose.
Our afternoon and evening favorites were all on the same stage- Nathaniel Ratcliffe and the Night Sweats, Willie Nelson, and Mumford and Sons.
I may have squealed, along with likely every other woman in the crowd, when Matthew McCaughney took the stage to announce Willie!!!

Mumford and Sons played all of their hits and had our excitement for most of the time. I was pumped to hear Nico's song, "The Cave," and made sure to record it for him! I felt pretty old as the night drew on though, since I was getting tired and some of their slower songs weren't helping with the low energy struggle! Man, I can't hang like I used to, especially if it's approaching my usual 9:30 bedtime.
The day was beautiful and fun, and it's always worth being a part of this event!
