The castle was up today!!! Loved this. I was sad on Tuesday, because it was under renovation and had a large paper backdrop covering the entire thing. Nico realized right away that this was the big castle at the start of all of his Disney movies.
We had a plan to start out with the section of the park that we didn't get to on Tuesday. The Star Wars ride was first on the agenda. As we were about to begin, Nico said, "This is gonna be the coolest ride ever I think." He got pretty nervous on this though, since our ship had many sudden movements.
After zooming through space for a few min with our 3D glasses on, Nico asked, "Can we come down now?" Maybe he thought we were really in space. Awww.
I'm thinkin that our rollercoaster loving kid may have been the youngest kid to ride Space Mountain. This is one of those rides that even has the warning signs about avoiding if you have heart conditions or are pregnant.
It was fun, but... I was definitely paranoid of his head flying around on the quick turns in the dark. I felt the need to have a strangle hold on him the entire time for safety's sake.
This guy loves fruit bars. When given the choice between an array of ice cream and other snacks, he chose the healthiest option.
Not feelin' too strong while trying to pull this sword out...
We made another appearance in Toon Town with hopes of seeing the rest of the characters.
Here's Nico doing the infamous Mickey hot dog dance while eating a hot diggity dog.
He was very nervous about meeting Daisy. I think he has a crush on her. He spoke often about her before this trip and how she was going to chase him. That didn't happen, but she did give him a kiss.
Goofy was out infront of his home too, so Nico proudly gave him a high five and took a picture.
Going for a climb in Chip and Dale's treehouse. We had some Cajun food for lunch at the French Market in New Orleans Square.
When I say "we," I only mean David and I. This guy passed out on the stroller ride over there. We were excited about this, since it meant that we did not have to go back to the hotel this afternoon.
Mickey beignets for dessert.
He woke up after about a 45 min nap, just in time to get powered sugar all over himself!
A relaxing train ride through the park was the perfect thing to do next.
We rode another couple rides, one being the Finding Nemo submarine ride, which was so cool. Then, it was time for Mickey's parade!
This parade was seriously awesome. At one point, I got the chills again from being overwhelmed by the magical, energetic spirit here.
I was so happy that Donald was in the parade, since this was the only main Mickey character that he did not get the chance to personally meet. Donald's home (a boat) was under renovation in Toontown. Seeing Donald may have been his highlight of the entire parade!
Tinkerbelle blew him a kiss. I reminded him that now I could see 4 different characters' kisses on his cheeks. Ha!
We thought we were in line for the Snow White ride, but we accidentally had stumbled upon an extensive meet and greet of 3 different princesses.
I'm so glad we did this, because they all talked to Nico for about 2-3 minutes each! He was generally shy but was still talkative. They asked him questions about his trip. When a couple of them asked where he lived, he responded with, "I don't live in a castle. I live in a house. In Ledgestone, in Austin Texas." I love this boy.
We caught the tail end of a Frozen sing-a-long show, and then asked Nico what else he wanted to do since it was his last day at Disney. He actually didn't want to ride any more rides and was worn out! He reaaaaaally wanted to get a pirates sword that he saw another boy carrying. How can you say no?!
I was sad to say bye to Disney today! Couldn't have asked for a better experience!
