It was my year to plan Valentine's Day for us, and I had a few ideas up my sleeve. Our afternoon started with pedicures!
I then surprised him by taking him over to La-Z-Boy to look for a new recliner. Ours had seen its final days and was falling apart, and David's very much into his recliner! We found the one right away. He wanted a "one and a half" seat width to make sure he had room for kids to squeeze on in there with him. So cute that he thought about that.
Dinner reservations were downtown at Italic. We ended up splitting a few meals since David was slightly stressed trying to decide if he wanted osso bucco or pasta bolognese, and I really didn't have a strong opinion on what I wanted. Typical for us there! The Italian food snob was not disappointed, so it was a successful date night!
We had the cutest Valentine's moment with Nico this year. We were at HEB picking out superhero valentine cards for his class party, and he saw other candy in the aisle next to it. He promptly grabbed this heart with M&M's and said he wanted to get that for Isla. (Side note, this is a girl that he has been caught kissing with at school, and he talks of her often. He claims, while blushing and smiling, that she is always looking at him and follows him around.) He added in that it had a heart on top of it, so she will then think that he loves her. Then he giggled. It was so adorable, so we HAD to get it. But then I thought, he's only 4 and he is already thinking about these things?!!!
He, unfortunately, ended up not feeling well and missed his class party. When I picked up his valentine cards later that day, his teacher did reassure me that Isla received her special Valentine! Nico was proud.
