Here's Nico in the carwash a few days before the trip. His concerned face seriously cracks me up.
I didn't get any pictures from the big dinner date on Friday with Ryan and his new girlfriend, Jessica, but it was a really fun time! I was excited to tell Ryan our big pregnancy news and included a sonogram pic in his birthday card. For dinner, we just had to introduce her to Mia's. Ironically enough, she looked at the menu online beforehand and had her eye on the brisket tacos. She nearly won me over within minutes with that comment! Ha! David and I felt like an old, married couple since they were all touchy and cute together. It was really cool seeing Ryan so happy and in this new phase! We definitely give them two thumbs up.
On Saturday, I spent a majority of my afternoon at Kristan's baby shower. She has been such a great friend to me throughout high school and beyond, as she was the one who threw my bachelorette party and baby shower. I also got to see Coach Zea who has been a meaningful person throughout my life! It's hard to find time to get together with them, especially now that I'm a few hours away. Miss them both.
Nico's highlight of the trip was that he had his first skating experience with Papa and Grandma! He did great, and he even ventured off on his own for a few feet. It was something that he talked about often for days and now associates skating with every other Dallas trip we will make!
It was a really fun and eventful weekend!
