A great week in sports: Rangers and Cowboys
We have had quite the week in sports around here! David surprised me with Cowboys tickets last Sunday for my birthday. It was the first time for me to be at the new stadium so I was pumped! While tailgating before the game, the vision of the Ballpark in Arlington right behind us was too tempting soooo.... we spontaneously bought Game 5 World Series tickets for that night too! It was the best day in sports we have EVER had... AND both teams won! Dave and Cindy watched Nico for the day to allow us to have a day we won't forget. Who knows if we will ever have that opportunity again. Needless to say, we both were hurting on Monday morning.
We laugh at the fact that Nico only knows a world where the Rangers are in the WORLD SERIES! We thought that bringing out his official team jersey would lead the Rangers to a Game 6 victory.
It's unbelievable that we were freaking 1 strike away TWICE from winning that game. I guess "that's how baseball go"... There's always next year!

3 months already?!
Nico will be 3 MONTHS OLD on Friday! He is such a fun, happy guy and has brought such joy to our lives! It seems like he has changed so much these past few weeks (I find myself saying that often) with more smiles/expressions, and cute little noises that are more frequent and drawn out. It's almost like he's "talking!" When he is awake he likes to look around the room and follow people with his eyes. He kicks and swats with his hands at toys hanging over him, can hold objects, and has pretty good head control for sitting up as long as his body is supported. He found his thumb for the first time yesterday and loves it. He is still sleeping inconsistently though. One night he'll go a good 5-7 hours and then the next he's waking up every 3- boo!
He still sleeps so cute with his hands up above his head! When we go in his room to feed him or get him ready for the morning, he usually looks up at us with a big smile! Gotta love those moments.
Dave's birthday was last Friday and him and Cindy came over to our house on Sunday to watch football and hang out. David made some impressive appetizers - lemon pepper wings, crab stuffed mushrooms, and steak bruschetta.

He has started to go to Misty's 2x per week and hanging out with my mom 2x as well. That is going great. There are a few little ones that are a month or 2 older than him and the rest of the kids are toddlers. He gets a lot of interaction and works on developmental stuff too! I love that Misty sends us pictures and updates throughout the day...
We had a great time with my grandparents in town last week. My first week of the new job was slow so I had the opportunity to see them most days. They couldn't believe what a content baby he is. We had a family get together over at Uncle Neil's last Saturday and we just HAD to dress Nico up for his 1st big Michigan/Michigan St game!...
We totally forgot how old Dave was so this candle was fitting!
That's about all that has been going on here in the last few weeks. My schedule is starting to steadily increase with the new job but I still will have plenty of time to be home with Nico. David is about to start up with his baseball team and hitting lessons so he will get a little busier too. We have been able to successfully keep the balancing act going!

Week 10
Nico started his childcare last week and went 2 days. Things were a little crazy for David having to drop off and pick up Nico both days. Points to him for still being on time to work! Our childcare situation with Misty and Deanna is great. Misty sent me a handful of pics on my phone throughout the day and kept me updated! She gives report cards on # of bottles and diapers and any other notes. Knowing that he receives a lot of love and attention there didn't make it too hard for me while I was at work. She is awesome.
He had his 2 month checkup on Monday. He weighed an ounce short of 13 lbs and was 2 ft long, which put him in the 70s in percentiles! Dr. Menchaca was impressed with his head control and thought everything was looking great. Nico didn't enjoy this appt too much since he received a ton of vaccines, including 3 shots into his thighs. He screamed louder than I've ever heard and his face turned bright red. I couldn't help but get teary eyed as I watched. Poor guy.
It's been hard being away from him for more than 4-5 hours! I couldn't help but wonder if he would miss me. I was a little sad knowing that someone else was feeding him, holding him, and getting him to smile.
I do have it pretty easy though. My mom watched him a lot of days these past few weeks and will start with her usual 2 day/week routine soon. She even came up to our house and pulled some long "work" hours so that I could come home during lunch to see Nico. Thanks Mom.

The biggest, most exciting highlight of the week is that he slept 7 HOURS for 3 nights in a row!! On the night that he turned 10 weeks (my lucky #) he shocked us both by sleeping 8 to 3. Hopefully this pattern can continue! He is a lot more smiley and responds consistently with cooing and smiles when we interact with him. It's so darn cute. Yesterday, for the first time, I kept making faces at him and stuck out my tongue a lot. He immediately started sticking his tongue out too. Pretty cool to see him respond in that way. I can't imagine how much our hearts will melt when he can actually talk! He seems so grown up already at times. Time goes by fast.

We had a big day in sports yesterday with the TX/OU game and Rangers playoffs. We made sure that we stressed to Nico how important it is in this family to get psyched for these events and wear the correct apparel...
The morning started off cheering on the Horns...
After Nico spit up all over his Longhorns outfit in disgust by the near 50 point loss, it was time to get his game face on for the Rangers...
Alright, we gotta include a few pics of our other 2 children. They are feeling neglected...
We received a really nice gift from Tim and Patty Ann this weekend. It will fit perfectly above Nico's crib. Check this out...
The bat serves as a shelf to set something on. Such a creative idea!
Everything is great in the Biagini home! Life couldn't be much better.

2 months old!
The past week has been a rough one on me because I returned to work on Wednesday, and I also had the not-so-fun task of turning in my 2 weeks notice. I feel really bad for dropping the bomb on the first day back, because I know that they were all looking forward to my return after working extra hard to pick up the slack. Fortunately, they understood and said that they were not surprised. They are great people to work with but the hours are just horrible for a new mom wanting to spend time with her baby. They did offer me to stick around for just a couple afternoons per week, so that may work out great!
David sent me these beautiful flowers since he knew my first day back would be hard.
I've decided to pursue a totally different path and try out home health therapy. I can make my own hours and make the same $$ as I was in about half of the hours. I'm going to start out part-time for now (starting in a few weeks!) and work up to full-time down the road assuming all goes well. From a flexibility and financial standpoint, it's a no brainer! Keeping my fingers crossed!
It's actually been nice to resume normalcy. We have made it out of the house a lot more lately too!

He loves his daddy...

We discovered our new hang out, Fuzzy's Tacos! Cheap food, cheap drinks, outside patio, and close to the house. Can't beat that.
We have also gone to a few Oktoberfest celebrations! I went with Anne and my parents to Addison Oktoberfest while David "babysat!" Is it called babysitting when it's your own kid?! David and I went to McKinney Oktoberfest the following weekend with Anne and my dad. German beer is NOT my friend. Hangovers are 10x worse when you are a mom! Lesson learned.
We also made it to the Ranger's 1st playoff game on Friday. Not a good outcome. Don't get me started on CJ's performance and their offense, or lack thereof! Had a great time though! Thank you for watching our little guy, Cindy!
Nico continues to change every day! He is so alert and easily smiles, coos, and reacts to people's voices and faces! It's so cool to go into his room in the middle of the night to feed him and have him smile back at me! He still moves his arms and legs around like crazy. His head control is getting better and he is really close to being able to keep it up without support. He is a pretty fun guy!

Uncle E came over to say hi!
