Halloween

I was so excited that both of my babies could go trick or treating this year! It's always been one of my favorite holidays, and I have so many fond memories of all of the years that I dressed up. We kicked off Halloween a day early with trick or treating at Great Granny Phyll's facility. The kids ran all over the hallways and were spoiled by sweet elderly people that loved having the kids around today.

I present to you, Minnie Mouse and the Black Panther.

Nico still genuinely is excited for Natalie to do new things, and he is always looking out for her. She didn't fully understand the concept of trick or treating and kept trying to put the candy back in the peoples' buckets who gave them to her.

On actual Halloween night, Natalie made it up the hill to a few houses and then really wasn't into it. Nor was she into taking a happy, smiley picture next to her brother. Nico went off with his neighborhood friend, Austin, to terrorize the neighborhood.

Happy 33 to me!

33 was definitely one of my favorite birthdays to date. David, thanks to the help of my dad's hookup with concert tickets, totally surprised me with Chris Stapleton ACL taping tickets!

I knew that this taping was happening tonight, so my semi spoiled self thought there was a chance of getting to go! David spent all day torturing convincing me to not be disappointed, because we really were not going. I was feeling that my birthday was just another day. At about 6:30, when it was late enough and obvious that we wouldn't be going, I was even more bummed.

And then the doorbell rang. Our babysitter was here?! Whaaaat?!

It was one of my favorite tapings EVER! Points for my whole family for doing this for me and pulling it off.

Sunday Funday

We can usually tell within 10 minutes of waking up on a Sunday morning if we are going to have a lazy stay-at-home day or an extra fun one. Today, we chose to go the Muellar Farmer's Market and the Thinkery Children's Museum!

This farmers market is so fun. We usually check it out at least once every couple months and eat our way through the place with Brazilian cheese bread, falafels, and popsicles. And grabbing some sourdough bread at the end to take home is a must.

Of note, David did get stuck and couldn't go down the slide. Big brother had to come back up to the rescue. Ha!

This is the good stuff...

Football is back!

The world is a better place when it's football season! I still love getting up for 8 am Game Day!

Nico was fully excited, too, and was dressed in football gear and running routes around the upstairs all morning!

David headed up to Ft. Worth for Kenny's TCU first home game of the season, and I took the kids to the 1st Dripping Springs football game in their new stadium! We stayed for the first half only, because it was freaking hot and I was solo with a baby in tow. It was a really fun, small town atmosphere. I can imagine we will be spending many of our upcoming Friday nights seated right here.  I always feel like Nico is the mayor when I go to any Dripping events, because he knows evvvvveryone!

We also went to the homecoming parade for the first time this year. I did get a little fired up and maybe even got the chills when the band stopped and played the fight song for us. I love this town.

Nico was pumped to see the different floats, especially the sports ones, and he had plenty of candy thrown at him.

Natalie has spent a majority of her life being towed around in her stroller, so she was her cool, collected self as she observed the excitement around her.

He's still really into showing off his muscles these days.

Dallas weekend: TCU, baby shower, and family

There was a lot of fun happening this weekend up in the Dallas area! We came into town Friday afternoon to meet Papa and Grandma at Mia's just before they headed off to the Stars' game down there.

Natalie may have spent the entire hour eating nonstop.

We went back to their home to stay, and you know that Nico can't have a sleepover without getting in the pool/hot tub...

We met up with Grandma Linda, Uncle Ryan, and Aunt Jess at a nearby park with donuts, so that they could see the kids before we all headed in our separate ways for the day.

I went off with my mom to Jess' baby shower at her sister's home, and it was so cute and fun! I am just so happy for her and my brother! It will be so fun to have another girl close in age to Natalie!

I went back to hang at Ryan's house for the rest of the afternoon/evening. We ordered Jimmy Johns takeout, watched football, and had a night of laughs. So glad that Uncle Neil stopped by!

Nico had a special night with daddy and went to his 1st TCU game! Kenny means so much to David, and he has just been on Cloud 9 watching his football games every Saturday.

Nico has been wearing a TCU shirt to school every Friday for college day and brags to everyone that his "uncle" is the TCU quarterback. He bought this hat tonight, and Kenny autographed it after the game.
