Dallas trip: Labor Day Weekend

David wasn't going to miss Kenny's debut as quarterback at TCU, so we packed up and headed to Dallas for a few days to start off Labor Day weekend. Dave and Cindy had company in town, so most of our trip consisted of really nice quality time with Ryan and Jessica!

We met at Mias on the way into town. We had been missing those brisket tacos.

We relaxed at their house on Friday night, and on Saturday morning, we all woke up just in time for the first College Gameday show of the year. I was pumped! Nico helped cook breakfast.

One of the highlights of the trip, without a picture, was when Jess and I took the kids to see Coach Zea! She's one of my favorite people, and I had to introduce her to Miss Natalie. It was a fun visit.

Our gang met back at the house for some college football watching. It couldn't have been planned any better for us than for La Tech to play Arkansas! Definitely plenty of trash talking and excitement during this one.

Due to not having a La Tech wardrobe, I let Natalie cheer for the other team this one time. It was a nail biter, and Arkansas ended up pulling off a victory at the end, thanks to a missed La Tech kick!

Hilary, Jess' mom, came to visit too, and we deemed her the baby whisperer. She couldn't get enough of Natalie! She was fun to hang out with and had us laughing plenty of times. For one example, she walked across the street to a garage sale and bought Ryan and Jessica a baby vibrating chair for a future kid. Such a subtle way of saying she's ready for a grandkid, ha!

Nico loved on Uncle E a lot this trip. They were so funny together, and most of my pics from the weekend are of them.

Natalie did great on her first road trip and went with the flow as usual. She cuddled plenty with her favorite aunt. She also slept amazingly in the pack n play for a good 8+ hours both nights, too!

Another highlight of the trip, without any pictures, was our visit to Dave and Cindy's. We stopped by there for a couple hours on our way out of town on Sunday. David's Uncle Dan and Aunt Deb were in town from Minnesota, along with a couple of their friends, so we were able to see them and have breakfast together. Cindy made Nico's favorite meal, chipped beef on toast, so he was in heaven between that and getting to swim in their pool! I was busy talking to everyone, plus I had to feed a cranky Natalie for part of the visit, so I regretfully forgot to take any pictures.

We left later that morning to head back for the big Texas football game and wind down from the trip. Such a fun weekend with family!
