Texas Stars' hockey

It was an obvious choice to get tickets to a Texas Stars' minor league hockey game, given Nico's excitement over his recent Dallas Stars' game! We went out to dinner beforehand and had a fun night of hockey watching.

Nico was still up on the cheers and had excitement with every goal scored.

He's been skating in the garage EVERY day since he got his roller skates for Christmas. Some days, it really wears us (David) out! He's gained some new equipment and a locker too, so he can be the real deal. He still loves to get presented as either himself or Jamie Benn.

He keeps his superhero costumes and sports jerseys here in his "locker room." Keep living the dream, Nico!!!

He skates better than me already...

Big purchase: a new car!

We plunged further into adulthood and bought a 2015 Ford Explorer this week! My work car needed to be turned in, and we really decided that a three row SUV would be ideal for our expanding family. David found this slightly used one online and hunted it down. We absolutely love it and definitely feel like we took another step forward to officially becoming mature adults!

New Year's Eve weekend

We celebrated our Round 3 of a late Christmas/New Year's this weekend with Ryan and Jessica coming into town! Wednesday night was Jessica's birthday too, so there was plenty to celebrate. We had an adult night out at Malaga for tapas followed by the Willie Nelson concert! We couldn't live in Austin any longer and not be able to claim seeing Willie Nelson. They may kick us out.

Ryan: "Take a picture of me and my two Jess's." Ha.

For both New Year's Eve and New Years Day, we had plenty of laughs just all hanging around at my parents' house. We did our gift exchange in the morning and played a few hours worth of games during both of the days.

Cards Against Humanity + day drinking. Enough said.

David kept nicely getting everyone drinks and food, so Ryan jokingly adopted the name Belvedere for him.

We had lasagna for dinner both nights and had a choice between my mom's veggie one and David's meat one.

New Year's Eve sparklers!!

As if we hadn't eaten enough the past few days, we all had dinner at Pinthouse Pizza on Saturday night before Ryan and Jessica had to leave town.

And another holiday weekend full of quality time is in the books!
