Halloween weekend

Nothing like waiting until the last minute on Halloween morning to carve a pumpkin. I felt a little bit of mom guilt for not involving Nico in this tradition that I grew up doing a lot of years! I had to get with the program. He was a little grossed out but enjoyed it!

For Halloween night, we took our little Spiderman over to a neighborhood friend's get together, followed by a trick-or-treating hayride for the kids!

Nico had plenty of energy and started out by running house to house for a while with his buddies. I loved watching his excitement.

My parents stopped by to pass out candy at our house while we were gone and also joined in toward the end of our tour. I'd say he got enough candy again this year to last a while...

This face

"Pleaaaaase?...."

This is his latest face that he makes when he asks for something that he really, really wants. How can you say no to this face?

Happy Birthday to me!

Cheers to 31 and all of the things our family has to look forward to this next year!

I can't say that turning 31 is overly exciting. It pretty much just means that you get your pick of where to go to dinner. Nevertheless, I took full advantage.

I picked Cici's Pizza. Don't judge. It was delicious!! I had been recently thinking about how we hadn't been there in the 2+ years we have lived in Austin. I knew Nico would like the food and video games. And what pregnant person doesn't want to pig out on one her favorite foods in this whole world, Cici's spinach alfredo pizza?!

A few nights later, we went to the Texas Roadhouse with my parents. One word... rolls! (And I'm not referring to the ones I'll have after all of these meals.)

Another birthday of feeling loved by family.

Horseshoe Bay Resort weekend

Dave and Cindy came into town this weekend, and we had a packed, fun-filled time! We started the party off at Smokin' Hops for some BBQ, live music, and a playground for Nico to run around on. (Our low-key pregnancy reveal happened here, since the trend continued that me ordering water to drink is so unusual. Ha!)

We came back to the house to hang out on the deck and celebrate Dave's birthday. You have failed in the Biagini family if you neglect to have a birthday cake when celebrating one's big day.

Nico was proud to show off his new UT football gear. We took turns presenting him, and he never seemed to lose energy with the 37 times he ran out of the imaginary tunnel. (He has been excited about this tunnel idea ever since we went to the Westlake/Southlake game a few weeks ago!)

We were surprised to see that the helmet fit us all too.

On Saturday morning, Dave and Cindy had their 1st experience in the exciting world of soccer with Nico.

He was so cute and kept looking over to see if they were watching.

Our highlight on the itinerary this weekend was an overnight stay at the beautiful Horseshoe Bay Resort in Marble Falls!

The views from our floor:

We checked in about midday and had the afternoon to hang out by the pool. Nico swam for a few hours and enjoyed jumping in to splash Grandma and me.

It's a race to the elevator.

We ate dinner on the patio at the nice restaurant within the hotel. Prost!...

On Sunday, Cindy and I took Nico over to Sweet Berry Farms for a few hours while the guys golfed at the resort! This was the cutest little place with a ton of activities for Nico!

We all met back up around noon to eat lunch at a local place overlooking the lake, and then it was time to head back home! Thanks to Dave and Cindy for spoiling us and including us in their resort package. What a memorable weekend!
