College baseball in Roundrock

David is so supportive of the boys he coaches, even when they are done playing for him! Tonight, we went up to Dell Diamond in Roundrock to watch Austin play in a college All-Star game!

Nico generally loves baseball, but the popcorn helped finalize his interest in the game. He amazes me with his ability to pick up on things and tell me what's going on in the game.

Saltlick for dinner afterwards.

Nico's eyes lit up when Austin gave him a ball after the game. He asked to play baseball a little extra this past weekend and pretended to be Austin. Awww.

Roadtrip to Dallas

It has been a few months since we've seen Dave and Cindy, so we made the trip up to Dallas this weekend! We left Thurday afternoon, so we could have an extended weekend.

As you know, I can't help myself but want to take a picture every time he falls asleep in his carseat. Love that face.

Our evening started with bike riding and races in the cul-de-sac.

Getting in the hot tub/pool is a must do item for Nico at Papa and Grandma's.

David and I took Nico to the Sealife Aquarium and mall in Grapevine on Friday morning. I'm not sure if he was able to remember being there twice already when he was younger, but he loved it and was more fascinated this time around!

Dirk made of Legos?!

He only looks sweet and innocent during this carousel ride in the mall...

It was apparently so fun that he fused to get down afterwards. This meltdown led to him being thrown over David's shoulder and promptly escorted out of the mall. So embarrassing. Gotta love 3 year olds sometimes.

Although he may not have deserved it, we let him get back in the pool for a quick dip before naptime. More pooltime = more naptime :)

On Friday afternoon, we met Ryan and Jessica out for dinner at a sushi place across the street from their apartment. We also got to see their new place afterwards! They are such a cute couple. It's so nice of them to make a point to see us when we come in town.

Ryan's face cracks me up in this picture. Nico definitely loves his Uncle E, and is all over him when he sees him!

Lots of laughs!

On Saturday, we hung around the house and Nico had some more pooltime.

David and I headed over to Twin Peaks to meet up with Bryan and Scott and watch some football. Our Saturday schedule now revolves around what time A&M (Kenny) is playing.

I love this man.

A trip to Dallas is not complete without dinner at MIA's!! Nico felt the urge to brush his teeth here.

Love me some brisket tacos!!!

A typical September weekend

During football season, most of our weekends are very consistent.

Saturday morning is David's day to sleep in. You can find Nico and I dressed in college attire, singing "We're comin to your city," on College Gameday at 8 a.m.

As Nico's interest in the show wears out, we head up to the PAYroom for some fun. This morning was pirate golf.

He also "cooks" for us... and served it up on Frisbees.

There's always plenty of outdoor time. (He likes the high pitches.)

Grateful for this lovely view from our deck!

We usually venture out of the house after Nico's nap on Saturdays to do something kid-friendly, then out to eat. Our fav spots include Abel's, Pieous, or Jack Allens, but today we tried a NEW place (aren't we just so adventurous) with my parents. We read about it from a recent article on places to eat and drink in Dripping Springs. It did not disappoint!

I LOVE that the places around here are different than what we were accustomed to in Dallas. This restaurant was basically a giant barn in the middle of nowhere with a single wood burning oven for pizzas. It had only local beer that was served in mason jars, picnic tables for seating, music, and a brewery next door. There was a good amount of wide open space for kids to run around safely. The cornhole boards set up on each side were clutch for entertaining Nico.

Sunday Funday usually consists of staying around the house. We base our day around the time that the Cowboys come on and try to be quality parents for the other waking hours of the day! This morning, I took Nico with me to a new store, Five Below, to pick out a toy. Just because.

A Starbucks run on the way resulted in him getting a cake pop. Spoiled.

His two selections were this mask and claw. Such a boy.

The Biagini pasta sauce made its appearance today!

Go Cowboys!

Nights lately have become movie nights. Some of his favs include Monsters Inc/University, Frozen, Wreck it Ralph, Robin Hood, Toy Story 3, Finding Nemo, and A Bug's Life. I have to admit, it's a nice change from Mickey.

I just love simple weekends like this with our little family. I know these are the days that I will eventually miss most!

Labor Day weekend

The party weekend started on Thursday, with my lucky husband getting to go to Kenny's first start at South Carolina. He coached Kenny for many years, and as one of his main mentors, he said he wasn't going to miss it for the world. Little did he know the kind of game he would witness......

Kenny passed for 511 yards, set 2 school records, and led A&M to a victory! It was completely unbelievable to watch!

We were watching every minute of the game from home. Nico showed a lot of interest in seeing his "Uncle" Kenny and looking for his daddy on screen.

One of my favorite pictures of these two.

He's still very much into scaring people. RAR!

Saturday kicked off with one of my favorite days of the year.... the 1st College Gameday!!! You can bet I had a mimosa in hand for the 8 a.m. song.

Nico was sportin' all our teams... La Tech, Texas, Michigan State, and Arkansas.

We had a few pool days this weekend, since the weather is so beautiful.

And plenty of quality time in the PAYroom. (It's one of our favorite words that he misprounces so we choose not to correct him. Don't judge.)

A regular trip to Jack Allen's was in order.

Some torturing of the dogs with their treats in his hand...

Sunday night was fun with another date night- Bob Schneider at Nutty Brown. We have had a lot of these lately!

We had a really fun day! I may have had a little too much fun, because Frank showed up partway into the concert, so we walked back home. (Nothing bad, just a little too much to drink. Oops.)
