A Wonderful Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving was one of our best yet. All of our immediate family came to our house to hang out, have an amazing meal, and then go to the Texas football game afterwards!

The Biagini's were up and at it first thing in the morning to start the cooking. Nico was a helpful assistant!

We did another fried turkey this year since it was such a big hit last time!

My favorite part of the meal is always my mom's pumpkin pie!

Our first Thanksgiving meal in our new home!

Nico is fortunate to have all 4 of his grandparents!

 Just hangin out...

Here is our tailgating group for the game! We got down there a couple hours early to check out the scene and feel like real fans. Cindy was nice to stay home with Nico since he's not old enough to stay out partying that late yet.

Texas beat Texas Tech in a pretty convincing win. You would have thought we were true Texas fans with some of our cheering and excitement when they scored! It was a really fun environement.

On Friday, we had a day with the Biagini's! We went to Trittoria Lisina/Duchman Winery for lunch and then over to Wimberley to walk around.

Here's to many more holidays in our new home! We couldn't have asked for a much better Thanksgiving.

Drippin Donuts

Just a few shots from another one of Nico's favorite hangouts.

He is so proud to go up to the counter to order his 2 donuts. He gets the same thing ever time- old fashioned and a white sprinkled.

Softball champs!

Well, my first slowpitch season in Austin was a success....we won the championship! We went to Doc's on South Congress to celebrate afterwards and closed the place down!

The Big 6-0 for Grandma

We didn't necessarily go "all out" for my mom's birthday, but we did have a simple, little family gathering to celebrate her 60TH BIRTHDAY! (The real birthday bash will be delayed until May, when a lot of our family will get together in Florida!)

We surprised her with presents, balloons, and a cake at Waterloo Ice House. Sometimes life is much easier when you pick a kid-friendly restaurant with a playground rather than a place you really want to go to!

Happy Birthday, mom!

Party weekend with friends

We both had our BFF's come in town for the weekend... Regan and Bryan!

Friday night, Regan and I went to the Eli Young Band concert. We had a few drinks ahead of time with my dad, who happened to be down there for a different concert. This made for an excellent built-in driver! :)

The concert was great! We were right up front by the stage in the standing section. Regan even got the setlist and a guitar pick.

Saturday was a day of bar hopping- one of our favorite things to do! We were smart and decided to take a cab to and from downtown. The 4 of us started our afternoon on Rainey Street and made our way to 6th street to end the night.

We felt like we were on a vacation to be able to have 2 whole days and nights to ourselves! My parents watched Nico all weekend. While we definitely missed him, I can say that this weekend was much needed to be fun adults again!

Bring on the colder weather

The colder weather is settling in which means it's sauce time at the Biagini's!...

And also smores time with friends! It was Nico's first taste, and he looooved them. He has a sweet tooth just like his mom.

We really have had some horrible rain this fall and winter with a record amount of flooding on multiple occasions! Check out the river that forms behind our home when this happens. While it's no fun to be out in, it is pretty peaceful to open the windows and hear the sound of running water just right there.

Wurstfest

This week is Wurstfest in New Braunfels! We made the hike down there with my parents to enjoy some German food and beer, polka music, and entertainment. It was a fun little day trip, and it's always nice to try new things in the area!

Nico loved the carousel and would have gone 100x if we would have let him.

There were a few games for him, one of which being to pick a rubber ducky from the pond and win a prize. He chose this little duck, named him "Lil Fella," and this duck has slept in his bed since!

Both of these guys passed out HARD on the way home!....

Pumpkin decorating

We didn't get around to carving pumpkins like I had intended to, but Nico still got to get his fill of pumpkin decorating with the pumpkins that he picked out from the pumpkin patch a few weeks ago. It was cute to see him sit still long enough to do this little activity! Thanks to Aunt Nancy for sending him the stickers.

 The finished products...
